Autumn 2023
In September, Hertfordshire Travel Team confirmed that our school travel plan submission met the requirements to be awarded a gold accreditation.
This is for our efforts over the course of the last academic year (2022/23) to increase the levels of walking, cycling and other forms of sustainable travel . These efforts have resulted in a reduction in single occupancy car use and an "Excellent Travel Plan".
Well done to all the children, parents and staff for engaging in various travel activities throughout last year.
We are awaiting the Gold Accreditation and look forward to displaying it outside Mr Haynes' office.

National Award- Modeshift Stars
Modeshift STARS is the national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel. The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people. We have achieved the Bronze Level Award. Over the next year we will continue to be maintaining our Bronze Award.
School Council will be helping to organise events and campaigns to encourage pupils and staff to walk, scoot or cycle whenever possible. Where that is not possible, we encourage families to “park and stride” (a reasonable distance away), car share and park considerately.

Walk on Wednesdays Summer 2023
The School Council have chosen this initiative to support our work to maintain the National School Travel Award. Children and staff are encouraged to walk, cycle (with a helmet), scooter or park and stride every Wednesday. We appreciate this is not always possible, but we would encourage you to try and walk at least once a week.
