As a dedicated school governor and parent, I am committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. With a background in Finance & IT within the Care Sector, I bring valuable expertise in financial management, IT, Information governance & Data. I am passionate about ensuring that the school delivers high-quality education, maintains strong leadership, and meets its goals. By working collaboratively with staff, parents, and fellow governors, I aim to support effective decision-making and strategic planning.
I joined as a governor because I believe that I can help to make a difference. I have a strong desire to ensure the wellbeing of those around me and have interest in mental health. My two daughters have proven to me the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for them to grow and develop so they can become the effervescent young people they deserve to be.
I have three children all of whom have been or are attending Hobbs Hill. I am proud to have been a parent governor since my youngest joined in 2012 working with the school to improve the quality of education and support the schools mission and vision. My focus within the governing body is early years and phonics and personally my skills are business analysis and IT which have been useful in offering a critical perspective to school improvement and allowed me to support IT improvements.
The eldest of my three daughters joined HHW in 2021. With my background of education, qualifying with a B.Ed in Home Economics and Economic Studies, I sought the opportunity to join the governing panel in the Spring of 2024. With a number of years' experience working as a Secondary school teacher, I have a keen interest in pupil progress and teaching methodologies. I also have a passion for all things sports and outdoors. Currently, I have been working in the finance industry as a banking relationship manager for companies with real estate portfolios since 2016.
I am Jessica, I am one of the parent governors and I joined in June 2024. I have a daughter in year 2. I have been working with children for over 10 years now and I have a Level 3 NVQ working with children and young people which I completed as an apprenticeship. Since then, I have worked in early years settings and as a nanny whilst watching my own daughter grow. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and I am excited to be able to help contribute to my daughter's school and to help them to continue improving as well as learn more about other education areas.
I have two children at Hobbs Hill in Year 4 and Year 2 and a 9-month-old daughter. I have just finished my maternity leave and returned to my job at Hertfordshire University. Since graduating here with a degree in Psychology in 2010 I have worked here as a manager in the Student Administration team. My team supports both students and academics from their enrolment to completion. I am responsible for ensuring that regulations and policies are followed to ensure the best possible student experience. I hope to use these skills as a Governor to support Hobbs Hill Wood going forward.
