Phonics
At Hobbs Hill Wood, we teach Reading, Writing and Spelling through phonics delivered using the government recommended programme called, Bug Club Phonics.
Bug Club Phonics is a comprehensive phonics teaching programme centred around an accessible and inclusive teaching approach. It runs from Nursery to Year 3 and beyond as necessary.
In June we will have a statutory Phonics Screening test for children in Year 1. This is carried out by your child's class teacher with each child individually.
