Summer Term in Year 2

In the Summer Term we will be reading a variety of texts, ranging from non-fiction books to narratives. We will be learning about Barn Owls as part of our English work and will be exploring more chapter books.

In Science, we will be learning about plants and what they need to grow. We have some fun and exciting experiments planned! We will also be identifying living and non-living things and exploring different habitats.

In History, we will be learning about the history of our local area – Hemel Hempstead. We look at the New Town Development Plan from the 1950s to compare what Hemel Hempstead was like before this plan came into action.

In Geography, we will be learning about seaside and coastal towns. The children then get to see these towns come to life on our amazing trip to Brighton later on into the term.
