Improving outcomes for all our pupils through high quality teaching and learning

Design and Technology Week

Year 2 have been learning about the waste plastic in Nepal. We have designed products to make from recycled materials including plastics and cardboard. We have thought about who the product would be for and how we would construct our model. We made annotated drawings and designs first.

We have also participated in a design and technology workshop. We worked in pairs to make wooden two traingles using wooden dowling and elastic bands. Then we joined another pair to make a large triangle. We then worked as a team to join the triangles to make a 3D shape called an octahedron. Martin from the workshop joined them to make a tall tower! He then laid the tower down to make a tunnel! We got to crawl throughthe tunnel. It was great fun!
