Last week on the hottest day of the year so far, Year Two had the most amazing day trip to Brighton. On our return the children wrote recounts of their day, so we will let them tell you all about it…
Yesterday we went on the most fun school trip ever to Brighton. First we went on a train to St. Albans station to catch the train to Brighton. (Matilda)
When we got on the train it was very busy so some of us had to stand. Then we got to London and saw lots of buildings. I saw the London Eye, The Shard and The Gherkin. We played eye-spy. (Zahra)
Finally we got to Brighton and we walked down a really steep hill and onto the pebbly beach where we sat down and ate our yummy lunches. (Charlie)
After that we went to the Sealife Centre. We saw fish, seahorses, snakes and clown fish. Clown fish are orange and white and the seahorses were yellowy-green. We touched rough, orange star fish. There were so many colourful fish, I was amazed! (Natasha)
My group went wet up the stairs and we saw clown fish everywhere. Then we looked down and we were on top of sharks! Me and Bradleigh saw a poisonous sting ray and two turtles. Then we went into the tunnel and sharks swam over our heads. How cool is that! (Bayley)
Then we went to the beach and had a little paddle in the sea but I got very, very wet! The water went all the way up to my neck. It was a bit colder than I thought it would be! (Kayla)
We went to paddle in the sea. At first I paddled with my mum and then I went further by myself. I got soaked because I jumped over all of the waves. Next when we had to get out of the sea we got dry and changed into our spare clothes. We dried our feet with towels. It was fantastic and I felt really happy. How fantastic is that! (Sumaiyah)
When we got dry and went on the pier so we could spend our money. I bought a red and blue slush puppy. It cost £2.50 and I had £3.00 and I got 50p change. (Martyna)
Everybody went on the pier and spent their money on candyfloss. I had a candyfloss beard and it was very sticky. Mrs Mayes took lots of funny photos on the pier. (Hettie)
Next we got to have some delicious chips with ketchup squirted all over them and I ate the whole lot! (Sienna)
Then we had to rush to catch our train, but when we got to the station our train had been cancelled. We drank some water and ate any food we had left. Finally our train arrived. What a great day it was!
Thank you to all the teachers, teaching assistants and parents who came along to help and to the children for making the day lots and lots of fun. A trip that will be remembered by all for a very long time!
