Improving outcomes for all our pupils through high quality teaching and learning

Brighton 2016

This half term our topic is The United Kingdom and Seasides.
On Tuesday 21st June Year 2 visited the seaside town of Brighton.
We travelled to St. Albans city station by coach and then travelled to Brighton by train. We even managed to spot some famous buildings as we travelled through London  including the Shard. When we arrived in Brighton it was a beautiful day. The sun was out so we ate our lunch on the beach! After lunch there was time to explore the aquarium. Afterwards we took a walk back to the beach. We had time to dip our feet in the cold sea! Then we walked along the pier and had some treats! Candy floss was a very sticky, but popular choice. Ice cream, marshmallows and lolly pops were also popular.  After a busy day it was time for more food! Tea time and chips on the seafront. However, we were joined by some pesky seagulls! Just like Mr Grinling in the Lighthouse Keeper's lunch. Sadly, our trip had to end. A quick walk back up the hill to catch the train home! A brilliant day! Thank you to all our parent helpers and an enthusiastic Year 2.
